I create small-batch, handmade ceramics designed to make you slow down and appreciate the small moments in life.

for a long time, I didn't know what I wanted to do. I travelled a lot, moved to different countries, and loved connecting to people from different cultures. I'm originally from the Netherlands, and I eventually ended up taking my first wheel throwing class while living in Berlin. I loved it and couldn't stop thinking about ceramics.

I always thought I wasn't a creative person. I wasn't good at art in school, and believed that meant that I couldn't be an artist. now, I'm really proud of what I have created and the pieces that I've made. I'm so excited to see what else I will be creating.

in 2024, I started hand building in my little home studio (aka my dining table) in West End and I started sharing my process online. my apartment was called "Gwylan Flats", and so gwylan studio was born.

I'm still learning, and will always be. this is a place where I will share my process and my handcrafted pieces, created with intention.
