I create small-batch, handmade ceramics designed to make you slow down and appreciate the small moments in life.

For a long time, I didn't know what I wanted to do. I travelled a lot, moved to different countries, and loved connecting to people from different cultures. I'm originally from the Netherlands, and I eventually ended up taking my first wheel throwing class while living in Berlin. I loved it and couldn't stop thinking about ceramics.

I always thought I wasn't a creative person. I wasn't good at art in school, and believed that meant that I couldn't be an artist. That changed once I started working with clay and now, I'm really proud of how far I have come and of the pieces that I've made.

In 2024, I started hand building in my little home studio (aka my dining table) in West End and I started sharing my process online. My apartment was called "Gwylan Flats", and so Gwylan Studio was born.

I'm still learning, and will always be. This is a place where I will share my process and my handcrafted pieces. I'm happy you're here!
